On Thursday, April 10, 2014, Zochrot held its annual commemoration of the Dayr Yasin massacre of April 9, 1948. The commemorative event was held on the site of Dayr Yasin, and included a tour, carrying signs with victims’ names, explanations about the village and the massacre, inputs by some of the participants as well as a phone call from Hedi Epstein – a Jewish Holocaust survivor and peace activist. Ms. Epstein expressed her support and appreciation for the participants and called upon Israelis to acknowledge and apologize for the terrible massacre, as well as upon Palestinians to accept this apology.
You can hear her kind words at the end of the tour, in the third clip attached.
The tour is documented (almost) in its entirety in the clips attached below, filmed by Guy Butavia.
