In the face of a repressive and deadly regime that seeks to erase truth, and in the face of a mobilized media that legitimizes violence and hides atrocities—in a reality where voices are silenced, narratives are controlled, and images manipulated—sound documentation becomes a living archive of truth, a safe space for exposure, and a platform to amplify the calls for justice.
We invite you to listen to the voices of resistance, to raise them, and to make them heard—to document them and imagine a different reality together. This gathering will launch Zochrot’s new podcast as one way we’re collecting and amplifying these voices: exposing the history of Gaza as a "strip" born of the Nakba, linking the fragmentation of Palestinian geography in 1948 with the ongoing genocide today, and shaping a shared vision centered on return.
We’ll explore sound as a tool for political action, testimony collection as a form of resistance, and the risks and power of documenting truth under ongoing repression. We’ll speak about the strength of recording, archiving, and revealing in an age of institutional memory erasure.
Members of Zochrot’s community will also take an active part in this gathering, participating in a collective exercise in voicing truth and practicing spoken resistance.
This event will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2025, in Jaffa | Gathering at 18:30
The exact location will be shared with those who register
The event will be held in Hebrew. A recording will be available in both Hebrew and Arabic.
