Noga Kadman:
Noga Kadman, born in Jerusalem and live in Tel Aviv, finishes in the summer of 2010 the official course for tour guides, conducted by the Ministry of Tourism and the Society of Protection of Nature in Israel. Noga guides people and groups around the country, focusing on the history of the Zionist-Palestinian conflict, while watching the different layers, including those that are not readily visible, of the history and landscape in Israel.
In 2008, Noga’s book “Erased from Space and Consciousness” was published in Israel. It deals with the marginalization in the Israeli discourse of the Palestinian villages depopulated in 1948. Among other things, the book examines the silence and marginalization of these villages in information given to visitors in tourism and recreation sites in Israel. For this research, Noga has visited around 250 sites of depopulated villages.
Noga works in research, writing and editing in the Israeli human rights organization Gisha, which act for promoting freedom of movement of Palestinians in the occupied territories. Earlier, Noga has worked in research, writing and data coordination in the Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem, in translating texts regarding the 1948 villages for Zochrot association, in content editing in Mapa website which monitors tourism sites in Israel, and in surveying accessibility of tourism sites for people with disabilities, in Negishut association.
